Proposal for a Gypsy & Travellers Site in Roborough
Plymouth City Council's cabinet met on 23 August 2011 to recommend an application be made for a transit site of 15 pitches on a Plymouth City Council site at Broadley Park in the South Hams.
The proposed site lies between the Belliver estate and the Broadley Park Industrial Area off the Tamerton Road. The area is flanked by two diary farms, a fruit farm, the small hamlet of Broadley, Haxtor Lodge, Roborough House and the Parish recreation fields; all adjacent to the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Plymouth City Council owns the land on which the site will sit but the area comes under the juristiction of South Hams District Council for planning matters.
Bickleigh Parish Council is required to make a response to any formal planning application made to South Hams District Council on behalf of local people. In order to provide a meaningful response Bickleigh Parish Council invites comments from members of the public and will be holding consultation meetings locally before making its formal response.
We intend to display application details at the Woolwell Centre, when they become available, for public viewing and we will provide you with a link to the South Hams planning website where you will be able to download the details yourself.
